The Lake Minnetonka Athletic Association (LMAA) has been closely monitoring the evolving situation with youth sports in Minnesota and our ability to provide a football season this Fall. The update released on June 19th from the Minnesota Department of Health (MNDH) gives us confidence that will be able to hold our football season with the appropriate mitigations in place. We will continue to monitor the direction from the MNDH as the current epidemiology of the virus continues to evolve within MN.
Given this information we are moving forward with our fall season and are continuing to develop our return to play protocols under the guidance of the CDC, MNDH and USA Football. We will communicate these measures as they are developed and approved. We would like to thank you for your patience and support during these unprecedented times and can't wait to see you in August.
MYAS Youth Sports Initiative is very important part of our youth football organization. The 2020 College Football Season has been put on hold until spring. Those Saint Louis Park Teams that earned the award last (2019 Season) know the wonderful experience MYAS provided with the Minnesota Gophers Football Team. Recognition has been placed on hold for this season. Let's continue a high level of competitive sportsmanship and represent SLP well.
