Welcome to the 2020 St Louis Park Youth Football season!
We are working on setting teams and coaches, and are excited to kick-off the season! You should be receiving information from your team’s coach very soon. However, since time is short, there are a few key dates and events to be aware of for your player.
There are three scheduled dates for equipment handout:
The location for all equipment handout dates is the Louisiana Oaks Equipment Shed. Louisiana Oaks is the park located across from Park Tavern on Louisiana Avenue and Walker Street. The shed is west of the main park building and can be reached from the walking path just past the main building.
Important – You will need two checks at the time of handout to receive your equipment. You will not receive equipment without these checks:
We will provide additional handout dates as needed, so please do not be concerned if you are unable to make the posted dates and times. You don’t need equipment to start practice since the first few days will be skills and conditioning work.
Please go to LMAA website lmaa.org for a complete list of other association weigh-ins if you are unable to make the SLP weigh-in date and time. Weigh-ins are starting August 20th. SLP weigh-ins are scheduled for Wednesday, August 26th at the Rec Center. Here are the tentative times we have scheduled for each grade:
Practices for all grade levels can start on Monday, August 17th. Your coach will reach out to you and your player shortly about your team’s dates, times, and locations. Per league rules, coaches can have as much practice time as deemed reasonable before school starts. Although once school starts, the league limits practice time to 5 hours per week.
We are looking forward to a great season! Go Park!
Thank you for registering your child in the SLP Youth Tackle Football season! We are excited to have a great year of football ahead.
Each child registered will have a two-credit volunteer requirement if you choose to work your volunteer hours. Example volunteer opportunities include equipment hand-out, chain gang, setting up fields, tearing down fields, coaching, and High School concessions.
Volunteer opportunities will be posted in Dibs as they are available.
